Varying factors may adjust the price of a boiler or central heating installation and commonly they would be:
- Boiler position to achive manufacturer’s clearances
- Flue position, i.e. a long flue runs internally through the property, or moving the flue to meet current regulations.
- Upgrading the gas supply pipe size.
- Access to a waste pipe supply within the vicinity of the boiler. There are solutions around this, but they come with a cost.
- Accessing pipes by removing floor coverings such as laminate floor, plywood covered floors, carpets requiring professional re-fitting etc.
- Access issues such as scaffolding being required.
- Suspected Asbestos and its testing and, if necessary, removal. Or any other specialist trades required to complete the work.

A note on combi boilers. There are applications where a large combi boiler may be suited, certainly if you currently have one, but a large combi boiler may not be the most efficient heating/hot water solution. If you need two or more baths or showers operating simultaneously, or your decision to change your boiler is part of a larger renovation project it would be better to call us or book in for a video call for further advice.
